Why We Built AI Home Core

We believe the next smart home needs intelligence inside the home.

Meet ModusHome AI Home Core

ModusHome AI Home Core combines a Matter smart home hub with on-device AI to understand home context, automate everyday routines, and deliver intelligent services locally and securely.

What Makes It Different

ModusHome AI Home Core combines cloud-based LLMs with local AI Agents in a hybrid AI architecture. Powered by six specialized AI Agents and Home Intent Memory, it delivers safe and intelligent home services through a four-step process: Detect → Recommend → Verify → Act. By minimizing cloud dependency, it enables faster responses, stronger privacy, and lower AI operating costs.

Key Features of AI Home Core

AI Home Core Slashes Cloud Dependency and Latency

ModusHome AI Home Core learns from users' voice commands related to smart home control and stores the results in its Home Intent Memory. For subsequent similar commands, it references the rules stored in Home Intent Memory to execute them quickly, without relying on a cloud LLM.

This architecture reduces cloud dependency, enabling faster response times and robust operation even during internet outages. It also lowers LLM costs and enhances privacy protection by minimizing the transmission of user data to external servers.

Over 12 weeks of testing, we evaluated how this architecture performs in practice. As the local hub learns more command patterns (3 → 48 items), it handles a growing share of requests on-device (34% → 85%), cutting cloud calls (46 → 11/ 12 weeks) and external data transmission (66% → 15%), which drives average end-to-end latency down from 1.75s to 0.48s.

Local vs Cloud processing rate: Local processing rate climbs from 34% to 85% while cloud processing rate falls from 66% to 15% over 12 weeks.

Average end-to-end latency: Average latency drops from 1.75s to 0.48s over 12 weeks, with the steepest gains in the first few weeks.

Cumulative learned items vs weekly model calls: Cumulative learned items grow from 3 to 48 while weekly cloud model calls fall by 76% from 46 to 11 over the same period.

Intelligence for Everyday Living

AI Home Core delivers four core services—Quiet Care, Comfort-Aware Energy Saving, Safe Night Routine, and Smart Away Check—and will continue to expand through partnerships with lifestyle service providers.

One AI Home Core. Endless intelligent home services.
